Hegemony or Survival Summary

Well, summarizing a book like this one is hard, since there are no characters or plot. But basically, Hegemony or Survival discusses a different view-point on US foreign policy and different motives used to achieve hegemony. The book has nine chapters which are kind of split into two sides. The first five chapters deal with the US’s attempts at global dominance discussing different actions taken, why we think they were taken and why they really were taken, and uses of propaganda to get people to support these actions. The other 4 chapters deal more on US presence in the Middle-East. It still has to do with the hegemony and that idea, but it is explained more with the “war on terror.” This section also talks about why we really went to the Middle-East, the propaganda behind it, and so on. Overall, the book is heavy on the fact that the United States is killing the world in an effort to gain this supremacy. Yet, it also includes other facts that are extremely interesting and still support the overall message.
